SEQUENCE NUMBERS FOR INSTRUMENTATION IN CONCERT BANDS

When we create electronic files of instrumental parts, our computers usually sort them by name automatically. If we will precede the name of each part with a sequencing number, then the parts will sort exactly as we wish them to.

An example might be "ACBMarch 012 Flute 1.pdf" or, if you prefer a more rigid typing: "ACBMarch_012_Flute1.pdf

Applying such numbering to all our parts will automatically collate our electronic files.

With a lot of help from the members of Ron Boerger's Community Music list forum (www.boerger.org/c-m -THANKS, Ron!) we now have put together a great INSTRUMENTAL SEQUENCINC NUMBERS CHART.

Click here to View or Download the chart (PDF, 133k).

If you have suggestions for how to improve this chart, please send them to Submissions at SilverClefMusic.com, or to the email address in the Community Music list.

Enjoy!
